I am Robbie Jack. I built gainesvilleflorida.com, and I am a UF alumnus. I kept searching for what was on in Gainesville, Florida this weekend and kept landing on half-built calendars, out-of-date pages, and results for Gainesville, Georgia and Gainesville, Texas.
So I built one page that lists what is on here, this weekend, with the venue, the address, and the start time. It pulls from public sources and community submissions, dedupes them, and pins every event to Alachua County, Florida. Right now the calendar holds 3834 events.
It is refreshed every night. The last-updated stamp you see on each page is the real time of the last data run, not a number that always says today. Freshness is the whole point, so I keep it honest.
It is free, and there is no paywall. The calendar stays free because local businesses can pay to promote an event or feature their venue. Every paid placement carries a visible Promoted label. Promotion does not mean I endorse it.
