About First Magnitude Brewing Company

First Magnitude Brewing Company is a brewery and taproom at 1220 SE Veitch Street, founded in 2014 and named for both first magnitude springs and first magnitude stars, the strongest springs and the brightest stars. It brews more than 100 different beers a year plus its own cider, kombucha and seltzer, and it programs events most days it is open, from live local music and weekly trivia to art markets, monthly guided bird walks and community fundraisers. There is no kitchen. Local food trucks park on site every day the taproom is open.

Taproom hours
Tuesday to Thursday 3 to 10 PM, Friday 2 to 11 PM, Saturday 12 to 11 PM, Sunday 12 to 8 PM. Closed Monday.
Ages
Family friendly and open to all ages, with kids welcome under adult supervision at all times. The brewery states a zero tolerance policy for underage drinking.
Parking
Several lots surround the brewery. Parking can be limited during large events, and the brewery encourages biking and rideshare then.
Getting there by bike
The brewery is right off the Hawthorne Trail, with bike racks at the front entrance off SE Veitch St and just inside the beer garden entrance off the SE 10th Ave lot.
The spaces
An oak-shaded beer garden with a stage and a 16-foot LED screen, a taproom pouring 26 taps, and the covered Drift front patio. Most spaces are wheelchair accessible.
Food
No kitchen. At least one local food truck is on site whenever the brewery is open, with more on busy days and for events.
Pets
Pets are not allowed at the brewery, though well-behaved service dogs are. The brewery is in a Gainesville Sip and Stroll area, so you can take a beer to go and walk it along the Hawthorne Trail or over to Depot Park next door.
If you are not drinking beer
House cider and mead when available, wine on tap, house seltzer and kombucha, bottled craft sodas and canned non-alcoholic beers.
Tours
There is no formal brewery tour program.
